The A-dec 500 dental chair is qualified for a 500 lb (227 kg) patient. But it’s tested to four times the warrantied load to ensure safety. This is a simulated representation of a static load test. As part of the actual stress-point evaluation, a combined load of 2,000 lb (907 kg) was spread across upper and lower sections of the chair.
