Yes. Both A‑dec 300 and 500 Pro delivery systems* allow you to add integrated endodontics to your practice anytime, through the A‑dec Pro platform. A‑dec+ connected systems automatically receive software enhancements and updates to Dentsply Sirona file libraries, keeping protocols current without requiring hardware changes.
*Advanced endodontics require an A‑dec 500 Pro with DS7 or A‑dec 300 Pro with DS5 touchscreen and Midwest motor control module. You must use approved Midwest 6:1 endodontic handpieces to ensure accurate torque calibration and reliable apex location performance.
What's included with the file library?
You'll have access to more than 25 Dentsply Sirona-provided endodontic file systems with preset parameters—including multiple versions of WaveOne and Reciproc—upon installation of the Midwest motor control module. You can also create, edit, and "favorite" your own custom workflows.
How does integrated apex location work?
The apex locator is fully integrated into the motor and handpiece, enabling real-time apex measurement while shaping the canal.
- You define a target depth point and a motor response when that point is reached (i.e. auto-stop, auto-forward, or none).
- Apex position can be measured using either the endo handpiece or a manual hand file.
- Visual and audio indicators provide continuous feedback, with adjustable audio volume.
- Returning the handpiece to the holder automatically switches the system to manual apex measurement mode, while preserving the pinned endo screen.
Is the integrated apex locator mandatory when configuring the motor system?
No. The integrated apex locator is an optional feature.
